Q: Do you have a regular worship service?
A: YES! We are a Christian faith community in the Mechanicsville, and we'd love to have you come join us as our guest on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM. Each weekend you’ll find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with exciting, contemporary worship music and a practical, relevant message. Children are well-cared for in a loving, secure, quality nursery and fun-filled Bridge Kids experience.
Q: What will happen when I visit for the first time?
A: If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money. We know that many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” for awhile—and that’s fine with us! Come in, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and see if this is the church for you.
Q: What should I wear if I come to your Sunday morning gatherings?
A: You’ll find everything from casual clothes to business suits at our Weekend Experience. Come in what is comfortable for you, because at The Bridge is not about what you look like or what you wear. Even our pastor wears jeans! In other words, we're an informal faith community.
Q: How long do your Sunday worship services last?
A: Normally about 90 minutes, which means most Sundays we're done by 11:30 AM.
Q: Do you offer any programs for children?
A: Yes! We love children. At The Bridge your children are a top priority. Our Kids area are clean, safe, and staffed with loving workers. We offer a dynamic children's ministry called Bridge Kids.
Q: Are you affiliated with a Christian denomination?
A: Yes, we are affiliated with The Assemblies of God. We are proud of our denominational connection, but we do things a bit differently than more traditional environments might. That is by design and with a purpose. We aim to be a safe and welcoming place for people who may feel disconnected from God, and to be relevant to the newer generations who are drifting away from the church. There’s nothing wrong with the traditional ways of doing things, but there’s room for differences too!
That’s why we don’t make a big deal about our Assemblies of God affiliation. We want everyone to feel welcomed and encouraged to attend, whatever their denominational background or lack thereof. We seek to be a friendly, receptive, life-giving place while still holding loyally to our sound Assembly of God theology, affiliation, structure, and leadership. While we're striving to be a bit unconventional, we hope our efforts produce "good fruit" for us and for God's Kingdom. We also hope to be an encouragement towards spiritual renewal, growth, and vitality everywhere!
